Female Hair Loss Treatment? Dermatologist or Dessange?

hair loss treatment
Serendipity asked:

I’m a female in my early 20’s. I’ve been suffering for the past months from extravagant hair loss. My mom even noticed that the amount of hair I’ve been losing lately is “abnormal” I’m simply covering the house with all this hair I’m losing.

I want to know the causes, and ways to prevent it. I’m still young to get a bald head!

I’m thinking of two solutions, which one would you recommend:

- Going to a Dermatologist.

- Going to (Dessange) Saloon http://www.alghalia.com/PDF/Salon.pdf

They have (hair teraetment sessions). If that doesn’t work, then I go to a dermatologist.

What do you think?

For extra information:

Eating: I eat healthy. I’ve cut back on things I used to eat and don’t need (chips, chocolate, etc) and have taken out breakfast from my routine for about 3 days a week. I I have lost 2 or so Kilos. Still eat well.

Stress: I don’t feel I’m stressed out especially that I’m on vacation.

Sleep: I do wake up during my sleep, but generally I sleep well.
My monthly cycle is normal.

I feel my hormones are normal, since there are no other symptoms.

So, I’m losing hair on the top front of my head. My mother’s side of the family has many bald people. Started at 21 yrs and now at 22 I can see some skin through my hair.

So, what best to solve this?

1) Rogaine….but eliminated this option because I hear it knocks off your hair then regrows a “weak” set of hair.

2)Propecia…I heard it had sexual sideffects so haven’t done it but…might try it since it has the least amount of hassle (I am not one to keep a scheduled control of treatment). Now, what bothers me are the “side effects”. I hear enlarged breasts (barely)…what else? What are the sexual sideffects?

Also, I hear from the video that it works mostly on the vertex and the mid section. I have a problem with the top front and a little bit (maybe) of the mid. WILL THIS MEDICINE WORK ON ME? Does hair fall off??

3) http://www.scalpmed.com/mens/index.html
How effective? Doesn’t knock hair off?

Which is best for my type of hair loss. I have curly and am hispanic.
yeah…shaving…before that, I would like to at least try to remedy (even if temporarily only) this condition.

I know Rogaine WILL knock out your hair before you grow any new one…so I’ve ruled it out totally.

I wanted to know if Propecia or that other product (the one linked to) did this.

Also, how long do these treatments work for? I hear that Rogaine sometimes stops working after 2 – 3 years. Do these other products stop working after a while (sometimes)?

Any products that work for hair loss (in the top front and mid section) ?…even if I didn’t mention it?

Once I’m using one of hte products…can I switch to another product?

So, I won’t shave (at least, not until the summer).
I won’t get surgury (too expensive)..

THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN ADVANCE
